Mr. Anup Kumar Varna is the First Indian Skater to have won a Gold Medal in Inline Artistic Category at 2013 World Roller Skating Championship held at Taipei-City, Taiwan. He got his formal training from his father, Mr. Veeresh Yama, who was a skater himself and is currently a judge at the National Level. He derives most of his inspiration from his elder brother Mr. Amar Nag Yama who has the unique distinction of being the only Indian Skater to have won Medals at both Speed & Artistic at National Level. Even after 3 decades of roller sports, Anup Kumar Yama works as hard now as he did as a child and would never miss an opportunity to learn new things in skating.
